What is smart about the CYCLAMI Yoqi RT01 smart cycling tail light?

Speaking of smart tail lights, we must mention the RT01 launched by Cyclami this year. With its attractive design and functionality, priced at 99 yuan, it can be considered the first smart tail light for young people, and almost everyone who rides at night has one.

The packaging is a simple white cardboard box, with the Cyclami red and black logo printed on the front, and the model number indicated in small red text below. At the bottom, there are four selling points: automatic sensing, easy installation, sufficient battery life, and waterproof rating.

The packaging opens from the top, with a transparent plastic tray securing the bike light in the center. The manual, saddle mount, seat post mount, zip ties, and charging cable are neatly placed on the other side of the plastic tray, making it convenient to take out.

 

The RT01 features a square design, which makes it slightly larger than the commonly used round tail lights, but it excels in overall harmony and can be mounted both horizontally and vertically. From a design perspective, the square shape can accommodate more light beads, which also means that other components like the internal battery can be larger, making better use of space. Especially for bicycle tail lights that emphasize performance and stability for safety, being brighter and more durable is key.

 

The tail light is made primarily of ABS engineering plastic, giving it a solid feel. The black part in the middle is a microwave radar, which is the core component that allows it to be called a smart tail light. The top features function buttons, a power indicator light, and a radar sensing button. Although there are only two buttons, the light has 11 different lighting modes, making the button operation slightly complex.

 

The regular modes include constant on, fast flash, slow flash, warning flash, breathing flash, meteor running light, and continuous running light, which can be cycled through by pressing the function button. The radar sensing modes include three modes: ultra-bright, fast flash, and fast-slow breathing flash, which can also be cycled through.

The smart feature of the RT01 lies in its microwave radar, which can detect vehicles up to 30 meters away, providing timely warnings. Its detection range of 54 degrees horizontally and 27 degrees vertically can also provide effective warnings in turns and steep road conditions, ensuring safety.

 

 

The brake light is also a basic configuration of the smart tail light. When the speed decreases or brakes are applied, the tail light will display a high brightness for 3 seconds before returning to its original flashing mode. The RT01 has been tested to respond very sensitively with minimal delay; it lights up almost immediately when the brake is pressed, providing effective warning. Through smart monitoring, it can still correctly detect braking on bumpy roads without triggering unexpected high brightness due to vibrations.

 

 

The RT01 has also added a new daytime light mode, allowing the tail light to switch to daytime running mode when the ambient light is bright. The tested brightness is sufficient to be seen clearly even in broad daylight.

 

 

In terms of battery life, the constant strong light can last for 4 hours, breathing light for 4.5 hours, fast flash for 5.5 hours, slow flash for 13 hours, warning flash for 11 hours, and running light can last for 36 hours. The charging interface is a common Type-C fast charging interface, with fast charging efficiency.
